Assistant Midwife Pati Garcia trained at The Farm Midwifery in 2009 as a midwifery assistant, acquiring the skills and know-how to assist a practicing midwife in home or birth center delivery. She continues her training by assisting Sue Wolcott. Sue Wolcott RN, CPM,LM., has been a practicing homebirth nurse midwife for 30 years. Her practice, Naturopathic Midwifery, offers holistic prenatal care, well-women gynecology, lactation support and childbirth at home, including water birth. Sue has attended well over 1200 births since 1975, and is licensed by the medical board of CA and certified by NARM to practice midwifery. Sue is a Registered Nurse and also holds her Naturopathic Practitioners degree. With a focus on holistic health care, her areas of expertise include Nutrition, Western Herbology and Homeopathics. A series of five classes, one week apart for learning the techniques and philosophy of HypnoBirthing. (Hypnotic Childbirth) These classes prepare the expectant mother and her birthing companion(s) for the gentlest, calmest, most joyful birthing experiences possible. Materials include a Textbook, class handouts, CD’s and one-on-one private sessions, which have proven to be the most effective for positive results. These services are Insurance reimbursable. |

Pati will be the Center’s midwife from the beginning and will be finishing her educational program just about the time we’re looking to open our doors in late 2010-to early 2011. |
