Center For The Sacred Feminine
The Healing Starts Here . . .
Daily Blog
June 8, 2008
It's hard for me to believe I completely missed May; and yet when I think about the flurry of activity around here in the past few weeks I can understand how it's possible.
Since the last time I wrote, we have had several HypnoBirths. All beautiful and spectacular, as usual. The Center is growing by leaps and bounds, and it is time to introduce those who have become affiliated. They are:
Pati Garcia - DONA-Certified Doula and Natural Gynecology Expert
Laurie McMenamin - Body Awareness Educator and Hellerwork Practitioner
Maya Ray - Event Planner and NEW HypnoBirthing Mom! Beautiful daughter,
Satya Marin Ray - Born May 10, 2008 in "Spectacular" Form, per
the nurses at San Antonio Hospital!
Help me welcome them by following along in our upcoming "Orgasmic Living" Event. This event will be held on the 30th of September at a location to be later divulged. We picked this date because it is a Hindu Date Of Recognition to the Divine Mother.
There will be sponsors to meet, baby-product and services to sample, speakers from the varied "Practitioner Pool" at the growing Center For The Sacred Feminine and a private screening of the new movie, "Orgasmic Birth" as it's highlight event.
As I write this only the first movements toward this event have been made. There is MUCH to do. We are looking for sponsors to donate toward this event and will be contacting many of you. Those of you who are reading this and would like to donate a few dollars, we would be most appreciative.
More and more women are contacting me regarding HypnoBirthing, and so that aspect of my practice grows. I study daily, continuing to plug along toward that ever-dangling carrot . . . the Ph.D. There are four courses left as far as I can tell, then the Dissertation! I'm determined to finish in 2008. If not . . . there's 2009 . . .
The website should start picking up in the very near future. I have a "finalization date" of June 13th for some very interesting video that will be featured on the website. There is an introductory piece to HypnoBirthing, and then there will be the four separate pieces done by KSBY 6 in San Luis Obispo about one couple who came to HypnoBirthing Classes followed by their cameras with the final piece, of course, being their baby's birth.
The website will be updated with our new Practitioners' info this week. Call or e-mail with questions, info or just to say "hey", and start getting the news out about the "Orgasmic Living" Event, Sept. 30, with the Inland Empire's Premiere Screening of "Orgasmic Birth".
Love and Blessings,

So much for the "daily" in blog. Nonetheless, here I am, sitting in the quiet of my office thinking about where we are in the putting together of the Center.
I have made the most wonderful of friends. they are exceedingly aware, genuinly humble people and they are adding so much depth to my journey. Many thanks and blessings to these earth-angels in my life. You know who you are.
My efforts at getting 2,000 brochures out was a success. I printed and folded for days on end. Glad it's over. The seeds have been spread. I just have to continue to know that they are germinating below the surface of the ground, getting ready to be exposed to the Greater Los Angeles area. The food garden I've planted will serve as a good measure of the ripeness of a season. So I can watch it day by day and week by week as it takes root and produces fruit. I continue to be a very impatient person, but this life I've been given is still germinating . . . getting ready to burst forth fruit.
I have before me some major projects. In the next week or so the final cuts will be added to the existing video which will be placed next to the Center's logo on the Home Page. I'm excited about that continuing work..
The web site itself still needs a lot of attention which I am currently unable to give it; so it continues to exist such as it is.
I seem to have landed in the proverbial desert yet again as concerns awareness of the gentle, statistically shorter, celebratory and sacred birthings called HypnoBirthingR , I know my business is growing in the best way it can, which is by word of mouth from ecstatic new parents who have brought their children into the world with calm, dignity, profoundly relaxed mothers and joy beyond description as mother and baby see each other and bond immediately following birth.
It is as good a time as any to write more about HypnoBirthing from my own experiences as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. Each time is the “first time” when my deepest emotions are evoked at the “in-breath” of a new soul entering the material plane. The birth of a child needs to be brought to our remembrances as the most sacred or holy of all human events.
Last night I watched, “The Business Of Being Born” a Rikki Lake Production and I am so GRATEFUL to her for exposing what modern medicine has taken from women during the most profound experience of her life as a woman. The loss of our soul in western society is having a profound effect on the psychology of our society in myriad ways. The inattention to the sacred is virtually causing our society to collapse around us and it is to a statement by Ina Mae Gaskin which said in essence that if we heal birth, we can heal the world.
This is a thought that should sit you down in your chair to ponder what it would be like if we were focused on the baby’s experience as much as the mother’s experience during the physically, emotionally, spiritually demanding process of labor and the birthing of your child. Just exactly what am I doing to see to my special needs during my pregnancy? What ARE my special needs and how do I fulfill them?
Pregnancy is a holy journey for mother and child, and it should be treated as such. We are grateful for all the medical knowledge our physicians and obstetricians have. Were it not for these people’s ability to understand the scientific and technological advances that medicine has to offer people who are in the throes of a medical emergency, we would be set back fifty years. The point here though is that childbirth is a natural occurring process. Childbirth is not normally a process that requires such focus on the possibilities of complication. Please give me credit, however, for always expressing that this is true across the board barring unforeseen complications.
Before anyone accuses me of “dissing” the medical profession, just save your own time by knowing that I worked in the medical profession in various capacities for thirty-plus years and I know a great deal about both professional knowledge and business knowledge. I didn’t fall off the tree one decade ago and I didn’t end up as an wholistic mental health professional by watching television or going to the movies. I’m in my third year of trying to complete my Ph.D. in Metaphysics and am still searching, like most other alternative practitioners, for the best way to market myself.
I find it interesting that when people ask what I do, they get all glassy eyed and vacant. My best “vernacular” interpretations for “Metaphysician” usually include some combination of the words PsychoSpiritual Therapy or Counseling, Wholistic Psychology, and so on. Or, if I have just a tiny bit more time, I’ll explain that “meta” is a Sanskrit word for “love and compassion” ; and that physics explains the mechanisms and power generation of ‘x”. In this equation, Metaphysics equals the understanding of the inner workings of the power of love and compassion. In essence, the things that Jesus knew, practiced and taught to his followers. Not one person has ever asked me what religious teachings I follow; out of social propriety, I suppose. I would answer.
It is more than difficult to be a pioneer Metaphysician in the beginning of the Picean Age. I wonder just how long it will actually take for the sacred feminine to grind the patriarchy to a place of moderation wherein we shall all live more balanced lives.
